before i start babbling on about my wedding preps, i just wanted to say thanks to all those who offered their kind words, condolences, and prayers for lola puring. schmuck and i are sincerely touched. here's to all of you...*big hug*
the past few days have been busy times in terms of my wedding preps as well. i remember mentioning in one of my previous posts that cakes and flowers were at least two things that i wanted to settle this month. today being the 31st already, it doesn't seem that i will be able to achieve that, but there is movement, folks.
i had my meeting with alex franco yesterday, and what can i say?! the man is suuuuper nice talaga! i had such a great time talking to him about our cake, and i feel really confident that our wedding cake will be beautiful. i'm sticking to my decision on having calla lillies all over my cake, and alex said that it will be beautiful...BUT. yes, there is a but. But it depends on whether we can source callas in april. GEDEMIT! if local callas are not available, he may be able to source imported callas...BUT. yes, there is another but. But it will be costly. GEDEMIT AGEN! so what's the ending? let's go for the callas, alex!
oh, and did i mention that alex's cake was yummy? no? i didn't? well, it was. yum yum yum! i brought it to the wake last night after my meeting with alex. schmuck liked it too. so did his sisters. and his cousins. the verdict has been set: dee-lish!
oh again! also met fellow w@wie mia (ni joel) last night. she was alex's 7 meet, and i was the 6. hi mia!!!
okay, on to flowers! i've talked to 2 suppliers and they've given me their quotations. again, i have callas in my bouquet and my entou's so the cost is higher than what we originally budgeted. i'm meeting with another supplier tomorrow, so let's hope that goes well. this supplier happens to be an old family friend, so i'm again hoping to get a good deal.
if i may just veer away from cakes and flowers for a moment, funny thing happened last night at the wake. one of the girlfriends of schmuck's ninong (yes, you read it right...one of the...) was there last night and she happens to be an events coordinator. when i got there, ninong dick was already looking for me because he wanted us to talk to tita cecile, his girlfriend (for that night, at least...) about day coordination. 'twas a little bit awkward, being that we were at a wake, but schmuck insisted that we talk to her already. anyway, she seems really nice, and she's customizing the package for me since i said that i will need help on the rsvp's. i hope the package price isn't too high...and ninong dick said that he'll take care of it. hmmm...i wonder if that was a serious offer. teehee!
well, i see progress here:
cake -- check!
flowers -- almost check!
day coordinator -- hopeful check!
not bad at all.
i've also been playing around with photoshop, and have come up with sample e-vites. am not very happy with it yet, as i'm still trying to learn how to use the damn thing. i mean, WTF are pixellate or pointillize or craquelure?! anyway, here's what i did.
feel free to crucify it!
